Developer gets mixed ruling on WTC case

Court affirms some, but not all, jury decisions viewing 9/11 as 2 ‘events.’

NEW YORK (Reuters) — A U.S. appeals court on Wednesday handed World Trade Center leaseholder Larry Silverstein a mixed verdict in his ongoing battle to collect billions of dollars in claims from the complex’s insurers.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit affirmed previous jury decisions which forced some insurers to treat the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks as two separate events, but allowed others to treat it as a single event due to the wording of their policies.

The ruling means that Silverstein could collect some $1.1 billion in additional damages from insurers including Allianz, Zurich American Insurance and Travelers Indemnity Co.

Arguments Begin In WTC Insurance Dispute

Formal arguments began before a federal appeals court Tuesday in the insurance dispute over whether the destruction of the World Trade Center was one attack or two, with billions of dollars of reconstruction money at stake.

The lease-holder of the trade center, Larry Silverstein, is suing his insurers for a double payout, arguing that the two hijacked airliners that struck each tower on September 11, 2001, were separate events. The nearly two dozen insurance companies contend the impacts of the planes and the collapse of the towers constitute a single attack.

It is kind of weird that the lease was reworded at the last minute to include a terrorist attack. He knew it was going to happen and set out to profit from the attacks. How much did he promise politicians if they would make sure he won?

This disaster could have been prevented. Any one who profits from this horrific disaster should go to hell.

Fed-up Wal-Mart worker quits over pro-’gay’ agenda

Posted by mythoughtsandnews on November 1, 2006

Sam Walton’s original stores wouldn’t even sell recorded music if it contained profanity and Janet Baird was happy working hard to make the company money, setting up and managing wedding fairs and other promotions, and won awards for her efforts.

She and her husband even married at one of the store’s events.

But no more. The Ohio woman, after hearing the shocking confirmation directly from the mega-corporation’s international headquarters that the company is, in fact, contributing to the financial and moral agenda of the nation’s “gay” chamber of commerce, she quit. And she’s not a bit worried.

“I got God backing me. That’s where I stand on it,” she told WND in an interview.

Baird had worked for the corporation, in various branches including Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart, since 1992. It was a recent tip she received from her brother that was the beginning of the end, because he told her “my company had joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.”

Wal-Mart has now joined the ranks of big name companies that support the down fall of America. Target supports urban terrorist by giving a percentage of their profits to support groups like PETA, ELF, and ALF.

Wal-Mart now supports gay groups and is helping them push Homosexuality on to the American people. Wal-Mart should be added to the list, along side Target, of places to boycott. Wal-Mart is trying to undermind the moral values of the American people.

Boycott Wal-Mart, Boycott Target.
