My Thoughts and News

Those who hide the truth or prevent the truth from being known, are the very ones who wish to hide the real truth and rewrite history.

County seeks to reduce minority incarcerations

Posted by mythoughtsandnews on January 23, 2006

School suspensions and juvenile detention center populations show that
imbalance starts early. Last year, 70 percent of students suspended
from Guilford County Schools were minorities. Nationally, minority
youth represent 34 percent of the juvenile population, but 62 percent
of detained youth, according to the Office of Juvenile Justice and
Delinquency Prevention.

Fair treatment all around, but do not single out minorities
and give them special treatment because it will spread resentment. It can also lead
to whites living in the county to feel that minorities get special treatment.
If they still end up being suspended, then do not be surprised. A child, with
common sense, is given a chance to improve his grades, they will take it. When
you force it down their thoughts, they will resist every effort to help or
teach them.
